The Role of Nutrients
Nitrogen
Nitrogen supports vegetative growth, chlorophyll production, protein formation, and the development of healthy leaves and stems.
Phosphorus
Phosphorus promotes early root development, energy transfer, crop establishment, flowering, and reproductive development. Throwback’s high-phosphorus formulation makes it especially useful when plant phosphorus demand is elevated.
Potassium

General Application Rates
Soil-Applied Applications
Apply alone or with compatible nitrogen solutions at rates ranging from
1–40 gallons per acre. The appropriate rate will depend on crop requirements, soil fertility, placement, and the overall nutrient program.
Foliar Applications
- Corn and cotton: Apply 1–2 gallons per acre when plant phosphorus demand is high.
- Small grains, cereals, dry beans, sugar beets, and other row crops: Apply 1–2 gallons per acre.
NACHURS Throwback is not intended for in-furrow use.
Mixing and Compatibility
Throwback may be used alone or blended with compatible fertilizer solutions. When preparing a fertilizer mixture:
- Fill the tank with approximately half of the required base liquid fertilizer.
- Begin agitation or recirculation.
- Add the prescribed amount of Throwback.
- Continue agitation while filling.
- Add the remaining fertilizer and compatible crop-production products.
- Allow adequate mixing time to produce a uniform solution.
Always conduct a jar test before field mixing with fertilizers or crop-protection products.
When mixing with UAN solutions, fertilizer temperature, air temperature, concentration, and storage time may affect compatibility. Sufficient water should be used to ensure thorough mixing. A
1:1 ratio of water to Throwback is highly recommended when necessary to improve compatibility.
